Thank God for Skype

Thanks to Skype, we were able to see and hear Morgan this morning!

We gathered the entire family (Matt, Henry, Mom, Dad, me - and the dogs), and at 8:30am she called!
She seemed so happy, and they are going to have a ton of great stories to share.
They are having such a blessed time with the children.
Tomorrow they will attend church with the Asia's Hope family, and this week they will be a part of the baptism of eight of the children.
She did report that the heat has given her a couple of little headaches, but other than that, she is great.
We anticipate that we will be able to skype with her one more time before she returns home next weekend.
It was such a blessing to see her face and hear her voice. Thank you, Jesus!

Oh, Eve

(Sent to me as an email forward)

One day in the Garden of Eden, Eve calls out to God.

"Lord, I have a problem!"

"What's the problem, Eve?"

"Lord, I know you created me and provided this beautiful garden and all of these wonderful animals and that hilarious comedic snake, but I'm just not happy."

"Why is that, Eve?" came the reply from above.

"Lord, I am lonely, and I'm sick to death of apples."

"Well Eve, in that case, I have a solution. I shall create a man for you."

"What's a man, Lord?"

"Man will be a flawed creature, with many bad traits. He'll lie, cheat and be vainglorious; all in all, he'll give you a hard time.
But... he'll be bigger, faster, and will like to hunt and kill things. He will look silly when he's aroused, but since you've been complaining, I'll create him in such a way that he will satisfy your physical needs.
He will be witless and will revel in childish things like fighting and kicking a ball about. He won't be too smart, so he'll also need your advice to think properly."

"Sounds great!" says Eve, with an ironically raised eyebrow.
"What's the catch, Lord?"

"Well... you can have him on one condition."

"What's that, Lord?"

"As I said, he'll be proud, arrogant, and self-admiring... So you'll have to let him believe that I made him first. Just remember, it's our little secret... You know, just woman to woman."

Morgan is in Cambodia!

Team Cambodia arrived in Phnom Penh roughly ten hours ago, and they are safe, happy, and exhausted.

As you read this, they are probably sound asleep, preparing for a full day at the orphanage tomorrow.
This morning I was able to briefly connect with Morgan via facebook. We hope to skype tomorrow morning, and if it works out, we will actually get to speak face-to-face.
Additionally, she sent this email to my mom, my dad, and me this morning:

Hi guys! Well we finally got here! I really don't even know what day it was. Went well, they did some crazy drill in the LAX international termnial that scared all of us ( tell you more later.) Has been going well. Today we went to the market. All I can say is that it is 10x worse than the mexico outdoor market. LOTS of BAD smells! The best was being able to see all the kids! They are amazing! They don't let go of you! I'll try to skype you guys tomorrow. Jen is waiting for her computer so, I can't talk long. Totally out of my comfort zone and missing you guys like crazy! Love you!
Mo

I've read this email about fifteen times, and every time I read it, I tear up. I am so proud of my sister, and I am so thankful that she is on this adventure.
Finally, Jen Morgan, the long-term missionary, updated her blog today, so please check it out for pictures and updates about Team Cambodia. The pictures of Morgan with those precious children absolutely melt my heart. I am so happy for her.
Please continue to pray for them. And, of course, I will continue to provide updates!

Are you praying for Tuesday?

If not, please take a moment and pray for this special little girl and her precious family.

This one is for my husband.

Not because he wears anything that resembles the undergarments on the far right, but because we often debate about global warming.

To the best of my knowledge . . .

Morgan and Team Cambodia are over the Pacific on their way to Taipei (Taiwan). They have successfully completed two legs of their trip (Columbus to Dallas to L.A.).

Continuing to pray that they successfully and safely make it through to Phnom Penh.

Praying for traveling mercies

My sister and her team are on their first flight (one of four) to Cambodia. Please take a moment to pray for their safety as they travel to Dallas (and then to Los Angeles to Tei Pei to Phnom Penh).

Thank you for your prayers.

It's today!

Do you remember when I made this very important announcement

Well, she's leaving today!!!

My darling little sister, Morgan, is going to Cambodia to do missions work. She will be serving an orphanage in Prek Eng along with a group from our church through a third-party organization, Asia’s Hope

Our church currently has a long-term missionary serving the orphanage, and if you check out her blog you can read about how God is using her in Cambodia (and maybe she will update her blog while Morgan and the team are there).

Thank you for all of your prayers and support. God has been so faithful.

Please continue to pray for Morgan and the team as they begin their 35 hour journey to Cambodia. We are so proud of these missionaries!

Miss Fabulous Vista Ridiculous Pageant

My good friend, Mary Kate, hosted a bunch of girls to watch the the Miss America pageant on Saturday night.
We had an absolute blast, and because Mary Kate is so creative, she came up with this crazy idea:
Miss Fabulous Vista Ridiculous Pageant

Each girl created a "name," talent (not to be performed, thank God), and platform. I was Miss Conceived (I'm pregnant, remember), my talent was "getting knocked-up," and my platform was Sexual Health, Sexual Education, Contraception, & Foreplay.
We even made our own crowns and sashes. It was too fun.
The winner of our pageant was Kim, a nurse, who was Miss Diagnosed. I was the runner-up!

Still sick, but . . .

. . . back to the grind.

Thanks for the well-wishes!

Oops.

(Sent to me as an email forward.)

**Rrriiiiinnnnggg, rrriiiinnnngg,**

'Hello?'

'Hi honey. This is Daddy. Is Mommy near the phone?'

'No, Daddy. She's upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Paul.'

After a brief pause, Daddy says, 'But honey, you haven't got an Uncle Paul.'

'Oh yes I do, and he's upstairs in the room with Mommy, Right now.'

Brief Pause.

'Uh, okay then, this is what I want you to do. Put the phone down on the table, run upstairs and knock on the bedroom door and shout to Mommy that Daddy's car just pulled into the driveway.'

'Okay, Daddy, Just a minute.'

A few minutes later the little girl comes back to the phone.

'I did it, Daddy.'

'And what happened, honey?'

'Well, Mommy got all scared, jumped out of bed with no clothes on and ran around screaming. Then she tripped over the rug, hit her head on the dresser, and now she isn't moving at all!'

'Oh my Gosh!!! What about Uncle Paul?'

'He jumped out of the bed with no clothes on, too. He was all scared and he jumped out of the back window and into the swimming pool. But I guess he didn't know that you took out the water last week to clean it. He hit the bottom of the pool and I think he's dead.'

*****Long Pause*****

*****Longer Pause*****

*****Even Longer Pause*****

Then Daddy says, 'Swimming pool? Is this 486-5731?'

'No.'
